When i was  growing up i never thought that i would end up in art school getting a degree in Photography.   I honestly thought that  would follow in my mom footsteps and become a nurse or a teacher.  But that soon changes once I began taking Photography in high school. i feel in love.  I knew that this is what I wanted to do.  but i didn't know exactly what kind of photographer  i wanted to be. In high school i though ti would be a animal photographer or I would photograph baby and family's. but that changed my junior year in high school when I attended Freestyle. It was at Freestyle that I found that I enjoyed and was very good at photographing inanimate objects.  unfortunately i still wasn't sure what type of photographer I wanted to be.  I knew i was good at inanimate objects but I wanted to do more then just take product shoots and shoots of single objects.   Once in college I started to explore different types of photography. and it wasn't until my trip back home for christmas in 2009 that I realized it would be awesome to own my own Gallery somewhere. I would really like to have a gallery in carmel but I'm thinking thats a dream that might not come true.

favorite place to photograph

In 5 weeks I will be flying back to Los Altos or what I like to call it : Mini LA.  While I’m back in mini LA I’m think that I will add to my collection of California photographs.  I’m thinking that I will drive the 17-mile drive and just take pictures. Because the last time I drove the 17-mile drive I think I was in 8th grade and I had yet to discover my love for photography and I remember the drive being the most beautiful drive I’ve ever been on.  And its sad that the didn’t have a camera only because the pictures would have been amazing!

But this blog isn’t about my trip home its about my favorite place to photograph.  And I have to say out of all the places I have been in my life California is my favorite place to photograph. I didn’t realize how much I love to photograph California until I made the big moved to Chicago.  It was here in Chicago that I realized that A) I missed living in California. B) I missed the weather haha and C) California was the prettiest place in the world.  It has so much beauty to offer. For example you have the mountains, you have the beaches you have the cities.

When I went home in 2009 for Christmas  my sister brought me to this place where I could see the Golden Gate Bridge and all of San Francisco and I took this photograph of my little sister and it turned out looking amazing   but these are just a few of my favorite pictures

some of my fotos

how i came to love photography

When i was a freshmen in high school i had to choose an elective. so i chose choir  because i wanted to be a main street singer and go to europe. but then i had to which into a different math class. the only math class available was durning 4th period which was when i had choir, so i dropped choir so i could take math and i then chose to photography.

The day i walked into Ms.P's class was the day i feel in love with photography.  Ms.P knew how to connect with her students and was able to bring out each of our strengths. The photos she would show is were beautiful and they showed so much emotions.   it is because of her that i wanted to go into photography. I wasn't sure if i wanted to become a photographer or if i wanted to teach photography, all i new was that i wanted a degree in photography.

i guess you could say that growing up for me was easy. my dad had a nice job my mom was a stay at home mother and i always new we would be ok, but that didnt matter all that mattered was i was alone growing up. and that all changed when i found photogrpahy.  before i found  photography i was this shy girl who hardly left her room, but when i did i was watching tv with my family or i was at school hanging out with friends.  it wasn't until i started to take photography that i started to branch out and become the person i am today... and I'm not saying photography is fully responsible for who i am but it plays a huge part.  if i had taken some other class in high school i would have never of though to pick up a camera. i would have never know about some of the amazing photographers like ansel adams , edward weston, annie leibovitz, david hockney.  plus i would have never known that i was actually quite good at photography.
